Christmas
On the 1st of December me and my family put up our christmas decorations. It took nearly all day but we got it done in the end. we put up decorations in the living room, dining room and the bedrooms.

Xbox One: Million Consoles Sold In 24 Hours
Microsoft has sold more than one million Xbox One consoles in less than 24 hours, despite some users saying they have been plagued by technical problems.
The next-generation gaming console is now sold out at most retailers after going on sale in 13 countries across the world on Friday, the US firm said.
Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of marketing and strategy for Xbox, said: "We are humbled and grateful for the excitement of Xbox fans around the world.
"Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for everyone on the Xbox team.
This is pretty cool,I am a xbox fan and me and my friend waited for 2 hours for the Xbox one at Game.

Christmas play
This year at hillside we are doing a play about the christmas jigsaw. In the play I am blue angel no. 2 and i have 2 lines to say. The play has 6 main characters the angel meg eve beth and tom and joe. Year 6 have a class song called roll up roll up and its about some carol singers in town who are trying to sing but get interupted by market sellers.

100 word challenge
...no one knew how or when but it was just there, floating in the murky water.It all started a few days ago we moved house from London Brazil,nobody really liked it there it was dirty and smell (especially when you live near a dump),so we moved here.we (my sister and I)were walking down the river bank when I ran ahead, then when I looked back she was not there just her boots and something next to her, I moved closer to get a good look then suddenly it jumped out of the water and,SPLASH!!!

Christmas

It was a normal day at first. I
was out by myself down the riverside, my family were out doing holiday stuff.
Anyway as I was walking I spotted a duck in the water. It looked happy enough
eating some bread playing with the other ducks but then I spotted something
moving in the water. This was not a duck it was a snake! I tried to warn the
ducks but they didn't hear me I screamed and shouted but still they didn't hear
me. I had to think fast, so I did it I jumped in the water. Splash!

Children Don't Play Near Ponds With Your Rabbits! You don't want to end up like this.........
Last week a person who's name is claimed to be Kevin was out walking his rabbit (bob) and bob fell into the pond. Kevin jumped in after bob but did not make it out. The person who saw this was Allie'n and she said "The rabbit got out safely but was a very strange colour and Kevin got taken by what looked like a starfish and the only thing left of him was his trousers and wellingtons."
The rabbit is going to court on the charge of arranged man stealing and will be charged over a thousand pound if guilty.

Mystery Over Blonde Child Found In Roma Camp
Police are trying to find the real parents of a young blonde girl found living with a Roma couple in Greece.
DNA tests have shown the four-year-old is not related to the couple - and their accounts of how she came to be living with them differ.
Police found the girl, who recognises the name Maria, during a raid on the camp, in Farsala, central Greece, on Wednesday.
She has now been taken into the care of a Greek charity called The Smile Of The Child, which has put out a Europe-wide alert.
Apparently, the couple's various excuses included that the girl was found in a blanket and that she was handed to them by strangers. They later claimed she had a foreign father.
I think this child needs to be re-united with her real parents, as soon as possible! what do you think?

Giant OAR FISH 'Sea serpent' Found off California
The 5.5 m carcass - which needed 16 people to bring it ashore - will be buried in sand before it is reconstructed for display.
Jasmine Santana of the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) was snorkeling with colleagues in Toyon Bay, southern California when she spotted something shimmering in the water.
She dragged the eel-like beast by the tail for more than 20m, others waded in to the sea and helped her bring it to shore.
After taking a closer look she discovered it was an oarfish, which can grow up to 15m.
Because oarfish dive more than 3,000 feet (914 metres) deep, sightings of the creatures are rare and they are largely unstudied.
This is the Giant OAR FISH that was pulled out of the sea in California.
We think this is massive we do not even think its a fish we think its a monster.What do you think.

A woman has died after a house fire in Rhondda Cynon Taf in which the property had partly collapsed, said the fire men.

Feeling quite angry, just lost to my computer at Chess but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
Lynn Grove opening evening
I went to the Lynn Grove opening evening and met up with Ethan N,Bailey S and Noah K and we went into the meeting at 6:30Pm. Miss Mobbs gave a speech in the hall. After that we went into the library and completed the book quiz. i went in the math rooms and science but the biology room was great.

Lynn Grove Open Evening 26/09/13
Lynn Grove Open Evening 2013
At the open evening I thought the school was brilliant. Although it was massive.
At the start of the evening the head teacher gave a speech.
Then I got a CIA quiz which had questions about the school. The answers to the questions were on the walls in two rooms.
These are the departments I went in.
Science
I went in two science rooms...
1)The first science room that I went in was a biology room. In this room a teacher was explaining how the top half of the body works while a child was using a bike pump to pump air into the lungs.
2)In the second science room some children were showing guests how to identify chemicals. Here's how they did it:
The children gave you a wooden rod and asked you to dip it into some chemical powder. Then you had to put the rod onto the bunson burner (the flame) and the fire changed colour. Finally there was a sheet of paper with chemicals, e.g. calcium and lithium, and you had to guess which chemical it was according to the colour.
Maths
I went in two maths rooms...
1)In this maths room there was lots of puzzles to do with logic, they were matchstick puzzles.
Here is a picture of a logical matchstick puzzle. In the puzzle you have to move two matchsticks to make the dog face the other way.
2)Next we walked to another maths room and there was a few computers with maths games on them like times tables , decimals , adding , subtracting , multiplying and dividing.
Library
In Lynn Grove there is two floors to the library but I only got to go to the downstairs part.
On both floors there was a quiz where you had to find books and look on a certain page number and find specific information. If you completed either challenge you could get a bookmark. I got a bookmark that said "NO BRAIN NO GAIN READ".
Media
In the media part there was a camera with words scrolling up from it. The words were called autocues. You had to keep up with the words quite a bit.
I guess this is how a newsreader feels then.
Materials and Electronics
In the materials and electronics room some people were building circuit boards and other kinds of electrical objects.
Sports
Outside near the dining room there were three sports parts...
1)The first sports part was an area where there was some rugby posts.
2)The next part was the sports hall. Unfortunately I didn't get time to go in there.
3)The final sports area was an all weather pitch.
Overall out of all of the rooms that I went in I thought that the school was great.
I can't wait until September 2014!!
